So… PM Lee has a Telegram channel

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong now has a Telegram Chanel and we are no longer surprised.

In line with his continuous endeavours to engage the public through social media, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong now has a telegram channel.

In recent years, PM Lee has gained attention (and followers) for his impressive use of social media. Amidst more professional posts regarding his political activities, PM Lee manages to throw in personal anecdotes featuring photos taken by himself. For both his Facebook and Instagram accounts, staff from the Prime Minister’s Office help with the maintenance, but PM Lee makes sure to sign his own posts off with ‘LHL’. He even remembers to credit himself in some of the photos.

He takes selfies and even manages to grasp Instagram aesthetics.

Telegram is a cloud-based messaging service comparable to WhatsApp, where users can send messages, exchange photos, videos, stickers and files of the like. A channel on Telegram on the other hand, can be used to broadcast messages to an unlimited number of subscribers.

Created on the 11th of August this year, it seems PM Lee has been using the channel exclusively to broadcast the National Day Messages in different languages. So far he has garnered more than 600 members.

Users can follow Prime Minister Lee’s Telegram channel here and be notified should he broadcast an update.

With PM Lee’s avid use of social media as an extension of his public image as well as to give us a peek into his personal life, one can only hope he will divulge the answer to one very important question-

What is PM Lee’s favourite telegram sticker pack?

(We can only hope it’s the PM of SG, LHL sticker pack).
